At the recent Annual General Meeting, Edward (Ted) Fleat, a very long standing member was elected unanimously as our new President and Shareholder in the Company. We look forward to a long and happy association with Ted at the helm.
If you are reading this, then you are interested in motorcycles riding, working on, looking at and talking about them. Come and join us on a ride out. You will find roads in Wessex that are near empty and new to you. We run a Second Man Drop-Off, so you won't be left behind or lost.
Every Thursday and Sunday, we have a club run during the days from early spring through to late autumn. Plus Wednesday evenings during the summer, we do short runs to local venues. There may also be further ride outs during dry cold weather but this will be announced by the Chairman during club meetings. (See the Runs List for details of all events).
We also run each year a number of European group holidays. See the Gallery for some of our trip memories.
We meet every first Tuesday of each month at the Royal British Legion, High street, Lymington (up the alleyway next to Barclays Bank). HOWEVER during the Covid 19 crisis we are unable to visit the British Legion until further notice
Arrive between 19.30 to 20.00 hrs
Chairman opens meeting at 20.00 hrs
Membership per year is a very reasonable £10.00 for 2020 and this has not changed since 2014.
The Club was formed in the 1930's. Hence, light car in our name (retained for nostalgia). Although with the advent of the Second World War, all thoughts of motorcycling for pleasure were severely curtailed. However, after a long hard winter in 1963 a group of local motorcyclists reformed the Lymington Motorcycle and Light Car Club. It was agreed that the Club would organise a series of road runs and attend local events to support local organisations and charities. 2013 was regarded as the 50th Anniversary of the re-formation.
A decision was taken in 2004 to form the Lymington Motorcycle & Light Car Club Limited and the Company was Incorporated on the 8th March 2005 under Company Number 5385168.
We are a non-profit making organisation that welcomes any members of all ages, catering for modern and classic bikes.
